Spirit Animals

Though this will always be one of my favorite classes, I didn’t fully understand why until now.

Artists of all walks of life sit down to channel their ‘spirit animal’- the connection they feel in that given moment to a very specific being in the animal/plant kingdom. For eons, cultures, societies, peoples, have felt and expressed deep connections with the ‘wild’ around us. For better or worse, they’ve symbolized all the good, and the bad, of civilizations.

I’ve witnessed, however, the connections individuals associate with their self, are always quite Auspicious! We identify with the animal or creature’s unparalleled strengths, striking qualities, skills, and unique talents and traits. They inspire our imagination and lift our hearts; to fly, to run, to play, to be more OURSELF, and our BEST selves. I’m able to watch as each person channels hidden confidences, reveals strengths, displays talents, and shares ambitions.

It’s quite remarkable to see how quickly and relatively easily we are able to lift ourselves up a little higher with the help of our neighbors in the animal (or plant) world.

Though I doubt we could do as much in return, I can hope we, at the very least, respect, protect, and embrace harmony between our worlds and theirs. 🪶
